driving miss rosie dog . . . a great little co-pilot . . .

" driving miss rosie dog "
- 1995-2012

miss rosie dog
was the sweetest
little dog
 in the world. . .

for many years, i drove her around
in an ol' jalopy on
beautiful roads
up and down the french country side . . .

from the get go
rosie asked for the car's window
on her side stay open

" always open to the wind . . ."
she said . . .

n, i replied : " OK "   . . .
which made her a happy dog . . .

winters ,
i'd wear an alaskan down-jacket,
wool-mittens and let the car's heating
system blow on high
'til spring came back. . .
 . . .
we were toasty
warm
n, miss rosie dog
could keep her head
out of the window
if she felt like it !

sometimes ,
rarely just sitting
pretty
window closed
no head in the wind
suited her fine . . .

she'd looked at me
in the corner of her eyes n' say " i'm drawing things
in my head . . . "

i'd say :  " ok. fine. . .
i do the driving
you draw . . . "

. . .

Matisse declared that
driving slow
was the only way
to admire trees

and
    their leaves . . .

miss rosie dog
loved driving slowly

 may be
, like Matisse she
enjoyed seeing out

a leaf
flying from
a tree

or
a hawk
diving
from
high up

often
' it was a farm
dog
let loose

running
back n' front
of the car

, barking
at us
trying
to bite a big piece
    off the tires . . .

i knew miss rosie dog
was scared out
of her wits
but she never let on . . .

her responsibility
as a great , competent ,
friendly
co-pilot

mattered very much
to her . . .

good
doggies
     are always this way . . .

loving
n' true
      to the last drop . . .

i know
rosie

  loved driving with me
n'
i loved
       riding with her . . .
